Dr. Adam Kane, DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology)

Dr. Adam Kane earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008, followed by a small animal rotating internship at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. His passion for cardiac medicine led him to complete a three-year cardiology residency at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, where he became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in Cardiology in 2014.

Since returning to Rhode Island, Dr. Kane has dedicated his career to advancing cardiac care in the region. He established the first full-time cardiology service at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists and has expanded his practice to include mobile cardiology services throughout Connecticut. His clinical expertise spans the full spectrum of cardiac conditions, from routine echocardiographic evaluations to complex interventional procedures and emergency cardiac care.

Education has always been central to Dr. Kane's professional identity. He regularly assists as guest lecturer for third-year veterinary students at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and has provided continuing education to veterinarians across the region and internationally, including work with the Chinese School for Advanced Veterinary Studies. His research background includes published work on cardiac disease in animal models and ongoing investigations into cardiac protective therapies. Dr. Kane has served on the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine's Cardiology Maintenance of Credentials Committee, including a term as Chairman in 2021, reflecting his commitment to maintaining the highest standards in veterinary cardiology.

When he's not caring for patients or teaching, Dr. Kane can be found cheering on the Syracuse Men’s Orange basketball team, practicing Muay Thai, or spending time with his wife, Missy, and their rescue dog, Rowdy Roddy Pupper.
